Zetech University marked a significant milestone in its academic journey with the official launch of its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) programme under the newly established School of Nursing. The launch ceremony, held at the Main Campus in Ruiru, was graced by top university officials, faculty, healthcare professionals, and representatives from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).

The four-year degree programme has been fully accredited by the NCK, allowing Zetech to join a growing list of institutions contributing to Kenya’s healthcare workforce development. The pioneer class of nursing students was warmly welcomed, signaling the university’s bold step into healthcare education.


🎓 A Vision for the Future of Nursing

Speaking at the launch, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njenga Munene, emphasized the strategic importance of the nursing programme to national health goals.

“Zetech University is committed to producing professionals who will positively transform the health sector in Kenya and beyond. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing will prepare nurses who are clinically skilled, research-oriented, and ethically grounded,” he stated.

The programme will follow a competency-based curriculum aligned with national and global standards. Students will undergo both theoretical training and practical clinical rotations in approved hospitals and health centers.


🏥 Facilities and Resources

The university unveiled its newly built Nursing Skills Laboratory, a modern training space equipped with:

  • Simulation mannequins

  • Vital sign monitors

  • Hospital beds

  • Emergency response tools

These facilities will provide students with simulated clinical experiences before transitioning into real-world placements.

Dr. Mercy Achieng, Dean of the School of Nursing, expressed excitement about the programme’s potential:

“We are laying the foundation for a future where Zetech nurses will be leaders in patient care, health advocacy, and research. Our students will benefit from close mentorship, modern facilities, and exposure to real clinical challenges early in their training.”

She added that the school is also focusing on mental health, community health, and digital healthcare innovations, ensuring graduates are well-rounded professionals.
